Because it is believed that the “Mapou” tree, in Haiti, has mystical virtues, I used Mapou leaves on frame.

The cut iron (haitian art) represents the different loa that people believe are linked to the tree of life. 7 birds made in cut iron are placed on the tree.

The title “Au Commencement…” means “In the beginning”
